Texas Longhorns Football 2026
Seven home games, and San Jacinto shuts down at five in the morning.
DKR is not a stadium with a parking lot around it. It sits inside a working university, which means gameday closures are not a ring around a venue, they are a redrawing of central campus.
The 2026 home slate runs seven games from September through November. Season tickets sold out before the season opened, so every one of them is a capacity crowd.
The specifics below are what actually determine whether your ride is twelve minutes or fifty.

Getting there, and getting out
The rideshare and drop-off zone
UT runs an airport-style drop-off and pickup on the south curb of Dean Keeton between Robert Dedman Drive and Red River Street. That is where rideshare goes and it is where a private car goes. There is no closer curb on a game day, and a driver who promises one is going to leave you walking further than you expected from wherever they actually stop.
What closes, and how early
Traffic control points and one-way conversions start at 5:00 a.m. on game day, not at kickoff. San Jacinto Boulevard from Dean Keeton down to MLK carries no through traffic until 6:00 p.m., reserved for pedestrians and tailgates. San Jacinto between MLK and 20 1/2 Street runs one way northbound. Robert Dedman between Dean Keeton and DeLoss Dodds Way runs one way southbound. DeLoss Dodds between Robert Dedman and San Jacinto runs one way westbound.
Why the one-ways matter more than the closures
A closed street you can plan around. A one-way conversion is what turns a wrong turn into a ten minute loop through campus traffic with nowhere to correct. This is the single biggest reason gameday pickups run late, and it is why the approach matters more than the departure time.
Night kicks change the whole evening
Ohio State on September 12 kicks at 6:30 p.m. and UTSA on September 19 at 7:00 p.m. A night kick means the postgame release lands late, downtown is already full, and the ride home competes with normal Saturday night demand. If the plan includes dinner or Rainey Street afterward, that leg needs booking with the game, not after it.
October 24 collides with F1
Ole Miss at DKR falls on the same Saturday as qualifying at Circuit of the Americas. Central Austin and the southeast corridor are both at peak, on the same day, and the routes between them share the same bottlenecks. Plan that one as its own problem.

Flat rates set when you book, so event-night surge pricing is not your problem. Scheduled pickups with a driver who already knows the closures.
